If you love being able to explore the most beautiful bays of Menorca by boat, contemplate the wonderful views from the sea and enjoy the best route in Menorca, we propose an irresistible plan, a boat trip through Macarella, Macarelleta and Cala en Turqueta.
This route will start in Cala Galdana where we will rent a boat to start our trip. When we are already there, we will stop at some of the most beautiful basy of Menorca, Macarella, Macarelleta and Cala Turqueta. Stay here and start the boat trip adventure!
We leave from Cala Galdana
The adventure begins in Cala Galdana, a beach located in the south of the island, very close to Ciudadela. This bay is one of the largest ones in Menorca, has a very family-oriented atmosphere and has all kinds of services such as restaurants, shops, sunbeds and umbrellas.
To rent the boat we have to cross the beach until we reach the end, there we will find a small stand, called PowerBoats, there we can make a reservation for the day and time we want to catch the boat. If we are very lucky and there are almost no people we may be able to book it for the same day.
While we have to wait for a bit, we can start the day with a bath in these crystal clear waters.
Once the time has come, we can get ready to jump on the boat and enjoy. Do not worry about the handling of this boat, it is very simple, you do not need the title of boat pattern. Let’s start!
First stop, Cala Macarella
When leaving Cala Galdana, we will have to turn right, turn west and in a couple of minutes we will find the first bay, Cala Macarella.
A bay with white sand and turquoise waters, an impressive landscape that will not leave you indifferent, as it is one of the best beaches in Menorca, as a postcard. Also in this cove we will find small cliffs that surround it and that have made it one of the essential beaches if you travel to the island.
We can only access the Cala Macarella bay walking or crossing the sea, so it is a unique experience that you cannot miss out on.
Here you will be able to take the first bath, you will love it.
Second stop, Cala Macarelleta
Without having to start the engine a lot, a few meters from Cala Macarella we will find his little sister, Cala Macarelleta.
What the two bays share, are their transparent water and white sand. Macarelleta is smaller and not so wide, so a few years, it was a nudist beach, but now there are very few people who practice it there.
You’re liking it, right? Well, we’re not done yet.
Third stop, Cala Turqueta
The last stop of our trip has arrived, but we have left this bay for the end in order to be able to put the brooch to this trip with a bay that will leave you wanting more.
Hidden among pine trees is Turqueta bay, by its name we can know that we are not going to be indifferent when seeing it for the first time, it has, like the other beaches, completely turquoise waters and fine golden sand that you will want to take with you.
It is a virgin bay but has a lifeguard, some small services and 10 minutes from the beach there’s also a chiringuito (beach bar) in case someone gets hungry.
The trip is over and it’s time to return to Cala Galdana to drop the boat there, but the way back is a very enjoyable part of the trip too. If you have been left wanting more you can go back to do the tour again and again or make the journey towards the east. Are you going to book it?
